Attorney George R. Kingsley has been practicing law in the state of California since 1965 and has served as lead counsel in over 100 jury trials and arbitrations, obtaining several million-dollar verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients. George practiced primarily insurance bad faith law for Kingsley & Kingsley, including all types of insurance claims involving disability, health, and homeowner’s policies.
In the area of insurance bad faith, George now concentrates his practice on long-term disability (LTD) claims, handling both individual claims as well as group claims under ERISA. These cases are highly complex and typically find their way to federal court. Regarding homeowner’s policies, in the aftermath of the Northridge earthquake, he was successful in obtaining large confidential settlements from several major insurers in the State.
Mr. Kingsley has achieved a great deal of success for his clients in the personal injury field, including numerous high-dollar settlements and verdicts. He is currently litigating several class action health insurance claims against both Anthem Blue Cross and Anthem Blue Shield for their decision to not provide coverage for artificial intervertebral discs approved by the FDA. He has been a guest speaker at the CAALA convention on how to handle ERISA disability cases and has published his research. He has acted as a temporary judge pro tem, has been on the panel of arbitrators of the American Arbitration Association and has been both an arbitrator and referee under various Superior Court Programs.
